The Tenth Muse - Fitzroy - CLOSED

Photobucket

A sign that said 'gluten free and vegan options available' is like bees/honey to me. I popped into the Tenth Muse whilst waiting for my bike on Sunday and I have to say I was super disappointed.

I got a double short black and the rice pudding made with soy milk as an afternoon sweet treat. The coffee was terrible, to the point of being undrinkable and the rice pudding was basmati rice cooked in a bit of soy milk and sugar with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. That was it. It was like rice porridge but not as impressive. Really disappointing, I really want to support queer venues.

Deets: 365 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, Phone (03) 9417 7477
$$: coffee was standard price maybe $3.50 and the rice pudding was $6.50 (I cant remember exactly)

  1. I went there for brekky when it first opened & had scrambled tofu (I think) & the guys I was with had pancakes & none of us were super impressed. I really wanted to like it but it was just all a bit disappointing.

  2. That's such a shame. Gleegan food can be so much better than that. And there's nothing worse than bad coffee.

  3. I didn't want to finish the coffee or scrambled tofu when I had them. The curry and mock meat roll thingy weren't bad though.

  4. ... and now I agree too. I also want to support venues that are queer, vegan-friendly, GF-friendly and other cool things, but not when the food leaves me upset and sulky all day.
