Lord of the Fries - All over Melbourne

Photobucket

I have been wolfing down Lord of the Fries for a couple of years now, this is the first batch that lasted long enough to have a photo taken!! Vegan, gluten free "chicken" nuggets with napoli sauce and cheezly. Too.freaking.good. They also do vegan poutine! (SERIOUSLY!). I dont like their vegie burgers but its worth noting that the fries are super good too, I just cant ever go past the nuggets. They stock La Panella vegan pies and sausage rolls, Nellys vegan baked goods (cookies and brownies), and have many gluten free options (buns for the burgers, the patties are gluten free as are most of the sauces). In short they freaking rule. They're franchising out and an awesome drunk food/snack alternative in the city. I'm preaching to the converted already but ya'know.

  1. I must be missing something re: the nuggets - the couple of times I have tried them they have been rank, shrivelled up pieces of deep fried gross-ness. The didn't even resemble a nugget, really. After two times, I didn't want to try again.

Anyone know what is going on with Northland store? Went late last week and there was a sign that said "closed due to unforeseen circumstances" and that was also posted on the website (I think that is where Popeye went to look on the 'net). Not sure if it is back open again, but curiosity was getting the better of me :)

    Nosey, eh?

  6. hi elizabeth, I'm sure with such a successful franchise you would be able to get a loan from the bank. Give it a go! Bring awesome vegan food to Hobart!

  7. I never actually realised that is vegan/vegetarian friendly - thought it was just a nasty fries shop for drunken nightclubbers. Will try it out. Though what is cheezly (I'm not vegan/vegetarian)??

  8. Its completely vegetarian (not just friendly!) I would probably stick to the chips Joyce as a meat eater (you may not like the nuggets but everyone loves chips!). Cheezly is vegan cheese and its super yummy! I have to say I dont like their burgers... but let me know if you give them a try and tell me what you think.

  9. As a meat eater, I have to say that I love their burgers and nuggets probably even more than I love regular burgers and nuggets that contain meat. You'd never have guessed that they were vegetarian..
