Are you all thumbs in the kitchen? Do you stare blankly at a block of tofu and defeatedly mutter 'wtf'? Do you need practical ideas and skills to transform your omnivorous kitchen into a garden of vegan? Then the Easy as Vegan Pie cooking course is for YOU!

Class tackles the basics of vegan cooking giving you the ability to run home and substitute your old favourites. Learn to prepare delicious vegan versions of: pate, basil pesto, bolognese, caramalised onion quiche and dark chocolate tart.

How: The class run time is 2 hours. All recipes will be demonstrated with the opportunity to sample everything and ask questions. You will be provided with recipe sheets to follow and to take notes on. The class size is limited to an intimate 11 people.

Where: Milkwood - 120 Nicholson Street, Brunswick East

When: Sunday the 15th of April 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Cancellation Policy:
  • Full refund available up to 24 hours prior to scheduled class time
  • 50% refund for under 24 hours notice (if I’m able to fill the spot I’ll happily refund you all your money)
  • I will not run class for under 8 people, if I don't get the numbers you will be notified at least 24 hours before. You will have the option of full refund or place on next class.

Question: But most of these recipes are on the website!

Yes most of them are. I have found most vegans to be quite resourceful, good cooks (we had to learn ourselves right?!). These classes are designed for people who are new to veganism/experimenting/looking for different cooking methods/are timid in the kitchen/or just want to soak up my luminous personality! Unless you're a very established cook I think most people would get a lot from my teaching.

Question: Will this be gluten free friendly?

It can be! You just have to let me know at least 24 hours before class.

Question: Do you do group bookings/discounted classes?

I am available to teach private classes for 10 or more people at a set price which works out cheaper (max 15 people). I give a student discount or 20% and offer two free spaces per class to pensioners/full time carers/those with debilitating illness. For those that qualify please email me.

Dear Carla,

I can't thank you enough for hosting a super-fun, super-informative and super-TASTY evening.
Demystifying tofu, explaining the mysteries of omebushi plums, and introducing the delights of liquid smoke & "nooch" - is there anything you can't do? It was a night packed full of great tips.
Plus, that lentil pate was one of the most delicious taste sensations I've ever had the pleasure to chow down upon!

"I really enjoyed my first Easy As Vegan Pie cooking demonstration. From the first cup of mint tea to the final delicious mouthful of chocolate tart, two hours just flew by. Carla is the perfect host - funny, welcoming and super-knowledgeable about all things vegan and cooking! Watching her put together delicious dishes was fantastic, as was eating the results!
